But Seriously Edward is so amazing because of his Upbringing. he was raised to be a gentalman and everything. If it was him the human and her the vampire...... It just wouldn't have been the same at all. Not to mention that it wouldn't be the great hit that it is. :)
That and a guy would make excuses if a GIRL stopped a car from hitting him. HA HA
I don't think that it would have been as good. Women love to be treated like a fragile flower ... to be protected by a big strong ... vampire (big grin). But seriously, it wouldn't have been as fun to read if this little young woman had to keep rescuing a human male. Women want to be carried off .... cherished ... protected.
The target market for this book is little girls. Girls wouldn't be able to identify with Bella as much if she were a vampire.
But, every girls' dream is to meet a handsome, mysterious, perfect man, so that's why this story attracts so many little girls (and little girls at heart).
Girls always fall for their dream, even when it's a blood sucker!
The only way Twilight would have been as good if the roles were reversed is if Edward, as a human was equally awesome as he is a vampire. He would be a human, but he would need to be "special" like extremely brilliant, but also an intense and strong warrior of some kind. Perhaps he could have some kind of cool magical lineage like that of Jacob - but stronger, and more awesome. Then there could be some sort of conflict about it, like we wouldn't know what he would become if he was bitten by a vampire. Like he would be "one of a kind" like Reneesme. He would need to be an extra special human being.
No, I don't think it would've been as good because guys and girls are different, and even if Edward was still the gentleman, he'd have no chance (with physical restraints) with a beyond humanly beautiful female. I think what kept Bella grounded was her belief that she was too ordinary for someone so amazing. Guys don't think like that.
